Web Applications
Would your department like to conduct more business online? Our Media Solutions programming team has helped many groups lighten their workload by offering more information and services via the web. They are adept at using a variety of tools such as Java, Cold Fusion, PHP, Spring, and more.
Searchable Databases
Are you publishing detailed data in reports or schedules? If so, a searchable database may help visitors more easily locate the information they need. For instance, the Bureau of Business and Economic Research publishes a quarterly Utah Construction Report to help builders and others track construction trends. We created a searchable database for these reports to display on the BEBR website. This way visitors can easily search for the specific data they need.
Custom E-Commerce Solutions
The University offers departments a free credit card module ideal for simple sales transactions. If you are interested in taking donations or selling items online, we recommend you first check out the E-Commerce section of the U Web Resources website to see if this meets your needs.
Sometimes only a custom solution will do. For instance, we are currently setting up an online store for the Software Licensing department. The new store will allow visitors to more easily browse products, create wish lists, buy products, and manage their accounts. In addition, the Licensing department will be better able to manage inventory, sales, delivery, and licensing tasks.
Course Catalogs and Registration
Does your department need to register visitors for courses or conferences? We have built a number of custom course registration systems to meet varied needs. For instance:
- The Eccles Health Sciences Library course management system allows simple class registration.
- The UTC Course Catalog allows you to search to see all classes offered on campus.
- The Utah e-Learning Connection has a full-featured course management system for distance education. The program allows administrators to easily create course catalogs for different terms, track students payments, report grades, and much more.
